San Diego, CA –A huge fire destroyed a Pacific Beach home on Tuesday night. The home was located in the 5600 block of Soledad Road. The fire which started in the garage was the result of a natural gas explosion near the home’s water heater. The man who was renting the home was able to get out of the house safely. The house was fully-engulfed in flames and spread to the neighbors’ houses, before the firefighters were able to put it out. The damage to the home was estimated at $300,000 and the renter lost about $50,000 in its contents. The two adjacent homes suffered damages of about $100,000. Fortunately no one was injured.
